Jesus walked about HEALING people and RELIEVING them from their suffering. Now, scripture is clear that we will suffer persecutions, that we will have to endure temptations, and that we will have afflictions. But the Word is equally clear that God will deliver us from them all (Psalm 34:17-19).

God is a good God and he is the Greatest Father. Now, I don’t know about you, but I would not give my children so much as a toothache to get them to operate in my will. I don’t want my children to suffer – no matter what – and I am fully persuaded that God is better than me! Does God use sickness to bring us into His will? Heaven forbid!

Jesus said it best in John 10:10. The devil kills, steals, and destroys. Jesus gives abundant life!

Now here is the salient question: Is abundant life a suffering life? Does suffering bring forth fruit in the believer? Then why did Jesus heal anyone? Why did the apostles heal? Why were tormenting demons – by the way, the source of sickness, enabled by sin – cast out? If it is God’s will that we suffer, then Jesus was operating outside the will of God!

Now, here’s the strong meat alert – the doctrine of suffering bodily for Christ is a flawed doctrine. That sickness and pain have some redemptive work cannot be backed by scripture. There is a term for this type of doctrine: religious bondage!

Now I apologize if I offend anyone but truth is truth. As long as these genre of teaching is permitted to persist, GREATER WORKS ARE IMPOSSIBLE! This doctrine is designed to hobble the believer and stunt their growth, thus keeping them as spiritual babes instead of mature saints.
