This world has a plethora of problems.

This country has its own share of sorrow.

Thankfully, I’ve learned there is nothing so big or so bad that it cannot be overcome by the revelation of God’s unconditional Love and Grace.

Notice I said, “revelation.” Revelation happens when something previously hidden has been revealed or made manifest. This is important because God’s unconditional Love and Grace is more ubiquitous than air and more abundant than water. Yet, people die of asphyxiation and dehydration daily.

Because air is only useful if you appropriate it. And you can only appropriate that which is manifested. You cannot appropriate something that is hidden to you!

Part of the experience of life is breathing. Although breathing is what’s called an “autonomic” function, you can choose not to breathe.

And then you’d die.

(John 1:16-17 ESV) 16 For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. 17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

I absolutely  love — and by love, I mean this is absolute sarcasm — when people say you have to “balance Grace with truth.” As if you have to balance a good meal with poison. I love — and by love, I mean absolutely love — how John renders this here:

Notice he did not say law and truth. He clearly associated Grace with truth. Why? Because the law is a fact, which is subordinate to the truth.
