I highly recommend (and will recommend) this essay to anyone wrestling to understand election, predestination, salvation, redemption, and so-on. I can tell that you spent your time before the Lord because this word shines with the glory of the revealed, inspired Word of Truth, just as the face of Moses glowed with the Glory of God when he came down from Mount Sinai.
