What’s In Your (Spiritual) Wallet?

Faith is the currency of the Kingdom of God (Hebrews 11:1); the more of it you have, the more of God’s promises you are able to appropriate. Fear, on the other hand, is the currency of the principality of darkness (Job 3:25); the more of it you have, the more room satan has to operate in your life. My question to you is, WHAT’S IN YOUR SPIRITUAL WALLET?

Making Your Mistakes Prosper

I have made enough mistakes in my life for both me and you. I have made mistakes concerning finances, family, and faith that could have been my undoing in this lifetime. And if it had not been for Jesus, I would have been surely cut off!

But thanks be to the God for His mercy and His grace. When you turn to Him and His Word, He makes even your mistakes prosper! Don’t believe me? Check out Psalms 1:1-3:

(1) Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. (2) But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. (3) And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

I like that! Whatsoever! Unqualified! Because I trust in Him and delight in His Word, whatsoever (that means everything, y’all) I put my hands to will prosper.

Now, don’t get it twisted, you cannot knowingly do wrong and expect God to prosper that! But if you are meditating (studying) and delighting in (loving) His Word, that very Word will keep you from doing something really sideways!

Just like God told the Prophet Isaiah (Isaiah 1:19), if you’re willing and obedient, you will eat the good of the land! If we delight ourselves in God and in His Word, we will experience His promised best! If we will confess and repent of our sins, God is faithful and just to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9)!

God is the God that binds and heals all wounds — Even when they are self-inflicted! Hallelujah!

Bishop Eddie Long

Bishop Long is immersed in the battle of his life. He stands accused of some pretty heady charges. Do you know if he’s guilty? Innocent? Nope; neither do I. We do know one thing — God has used the man to win souls, make disciples, and expand the Kingdom of God. The fruit of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church of Lithonia, GA speaks volumes about the ministry, if not the man.

What I find sad is that no one is speaking up on his behalf. There are many mighty men and women of God who know Bishop Long personally and — having had him speak to their congregations — should be able to vouch for the man’s character at some level. It seems ministers and ministries run cowering when sin — accused or convicted — is uncovered.

For this reason, I will not be silent. It is not for me — or you — to determine Bishop Long’s innocence or guilt and, therefore, I leave that to God, the courts, Bishop Long and his accusers to work out. In the meantime, I am not ashamed speak to the man’s labor and his fruit. And I pray fervently for the accusers as well as the accused that the peace that passes all understanding will rule in this matter.

Your Position in Christ

If we are in Christ, we don’t have to be concerned — like James and John — what our “position” will be in the Kingdom of Heaven (Mark 10:35-40). If we are, indeed, in Christ — abiding in Him and His Word abiding in us — then we are seated at the right hand of the Father with Jesus (Ephesians 1:20) with ALL things under our feet because they are under His feet (Ephesians 1:22). Praise God!

Authority Over Ability

Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 18:19)

This scripture means we have AUTHORITY over the ABILITY OF the enemy. An 18-wheeler has the ABILITY to crush a man, but if that man has a uniform, a badge, and a gun, he has the AUTHORITY to command that 18-wheeler to stop. Once we understand that AUTHORITY (see Genesis 1:26-28), the devil who is under our feet on Sunday morning will not be on our back come Monday!

Center of the Universe

The SON is the center of the universe. I’m talking about JESUS — what did you think I was talking about?

Truth Over Opinion

To understand your purpose and potential, refer to the owner’s manual (Bible). Anything outside this is just an opinion.

Guard Your Heart

Guard your heart. The tongue can only reveal what is concealed in the heart.

Discipleship to Destiny

The ability to do a thing and stick to it is the core of discipleship. One of the great problems in the Body of Christ is there is a lot of good preaching and teaching (well, and a lot of bad preaching and teaching, too. LOL) but not a lot of discipling. We need to be about making disciples, maturing believers, and multiplying ministries. Discipleship leads to revelation of purpose. Understanding of purpose means God can trust you with an assignment. Operating in your assignment propels you into your destiny!
